Sawing log on the Guarlford straight
The Guarlford Scene

This photograph comes from 1950 and shows Mr William Shinn centre with his son Arthur and grandson Keith. William and Arthur are using a two man cross cut saw to fell and cut up a tree killed by Dutch Elm disease.

The photograph was taken in winter on the common opposite Chance Lane. The Malvern Hills can be seen in the background.

It is a typical country scene of a family working together.
